New Directions

A documentary focused on post-war Japanese architecture and its influence on Australian architects throughout the 1960s and 70s. Robin Boyd made numerous visits to Japan from the 1950s, introducing the work of Japanese architects such as Kenzo Tange to the West via his essays and books. Inspired by Boyd, many younger Australian architects made their own journeys, incorporating aspects of Japanese Modernism into their subsequent work.
